About Us
Special Educational provision is essential for students who have additional needs that can impact their ability to learn in a mainstream setting. In these alternative provisions, there are adapted learning environments, specific teaching approaches curated to best support the individual, bespoke curricula and a focus on the holistic development of each child. This tailored approach isn’t normally offered in general education and so parents or carers have either agreed to or requested a special school placement.

School Facilities
Al Muntazir Special Education Needs has the most advanced facilities within Dar-es-Salaam. The facilities include:
Well-furnished classrooms, a spacious, well-resourced Occupational Therapy (OT) Gym, An Aqua Therapy pool,
Play area, and Tactile/Sensory spaces.

Academics
AMSEN caters for young people between 4-20 years at age with a variety of needs including moderate or severe learning disabilities (MLD/SLD), Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Dyslexia, Downs Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy and many more. We provide different prospects for children with special needs to thrive and achieve their full potential.

Events And Activities
AMSEN have been privileged to be associated with the Special Olympics and participate in the National Games which are held every 4 years. Students go for sports training every Thursday at the Jakaya Kikwete youth sports park during school hours. The training is supervised by Special Olympics coaches at the JK sports park.
The centre offers extra-curricular activities designed to develop skills, character, and leadership. The activities serve both as recreation and fostering important vocational skills, independence and potential job skills. Club activities are done on Friday morning.
